Social Media and Extra Curricular Activities

I think that what you post on social media should be a reason to get kicked out of extra curricular activities.  If you write something mean to someone on social media that did nothing to you, that proves you are a bad sport.  If you are a bad sport then that means you are most likely disrespectful to your coaches and teammates.  This is a reason that you should be kicked out of a extra curricular activity.  Sometimes people post threatening things online.  For example, a school teacher, Christine Rubino, in Brooklyn posted this on Facebook; “After today, I am thinking the beach sounds like a wonderful idea for my 5th graders?  “I HATE THEIR GUTS!  THEY ARE THE DEVILS SPAWN!”  This was quoted in The New York Times article by Michael Gonchar. If you post something like this online, it is very mean and threatening to others. One more reason posting mean or inappropriate things can get you kicked out of extra curricular activities is that it can effect your teammates/club members to not show up to meetings/ practices.  Some people have been posting bomb threats on social media that have been causing others to not show up to activities or even school at all!  If one person stops the rest of the people from coming, they should be kicked out of extra curricular activities. These are some reasons why what you post on social media should affect your extra curricular activities.
